Become a marker for the CPA certification program

Want to invest time in shaping the future of the profession? CPA Canada is looking for a few good markers for the CPA Professional Education Program.

As a CPA member, you can give back to the CPA profession and help the next generation of accountants by being a CPA marker. CPA Canada hires markers throughout the year to evaluate the Common Final Examination (CFE) and module examinations in the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). Marking positions are available in English and French; bilingual markers are preferred. You can find out more about upcoming modules, their respective examination dates as well as marking centre dates by viewing the marking schedule. 

CPA CFE

We will be holding the CFE evaluation centre remotely. There are five marking sessions noted below:

  • Day 1: October 4-17, 2024
  • Day 2 Assurance Role: October 4-16, 2024
  • Day 2 Common Assessment Opportunities (Financial Reporting): October 4-16, 2024
  • Day 2 Performance Management Role: October 6-15, 2024
  • Day 3: October 9-22, 2024

Compensation:

  • Flat fee and a fee per case (to be determined)

If you are a CPA member in good standing and want to play a role in this important process, please:

  1. Complete the CFE marker application form.
  2. Email the form.

Note: Applications will not be accepted after September 16, 2024.

CPA PEP module-end examinations

Marking commitment:

  • A minimum 24-hour commitment for live marking plus an 8-hour training day per marking session is required.
  • All training and marking are done remotely.

Compensation:

  • Remuneration is based on a fee per case marked (ranges from $10 to $15/case).
  • A rate of $60 per hour is paid for arbitration papers.
  • A flat rate is paid for mandatory preparation and training time.

Capstone 2 National Marking Centre (NMC)

CPA Canada is also looking for NMC markers for the CPA Professional Education Program Capstone Module 2. If you’re interested, check back in Spring 2025 for future marking opportunities.
