2021 Member compensation reports
From November 2021 to February 2022, the provincial accounting bodies and CPA Canada conducted a compensation survey of Canadian Professional Accountants (CPAs). Access all reports below.
Key findings
- Findings from the 2021 Member Compensation study reveal that members holding the Chartered Professional Accountant designation have a median compensation of $124K and an average of $173K.
- The previously reported compensation levels for 2018 (from the 2019 study) included a median of $112K and an average of $152K, showing an 11 per cent increase in median and a 14 per cent increase in average compensation.
- From a provincial standpoint, the median compensation within the provinces was highest in Alberta at $136K, followed by Ontario at $130K and Saskatchewan at $127K. Alberta also had the highest average compensation of $188K.
