Jean-François Trépanier
CPA auditor
Jean-François brings over 20 years of experience in auditing and accounting. He leads the team supporting Canada’s three independent standard-setting boards for financial reporting and assurance. Passionate about standard-setting, he understands the crucial role high-quality standards play in maintaining trust in the capital markets and in both public and private sector reporting. He was a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) from 2016 to 2021, serving as vice-chair from 2019 to 2021.
Prior to joining CPA Canada, Jean-François was a partner at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton LLP, where he held prominent leadership positions, including national director of Professional Standards and as a member of Grant Thornton International (GTIL) Methodology and Learning Steering Committee. He was also a key player in the development and launch of GTIL’s new global audit methodology.
Jean-François was awarded the CPA Award of Excellence – Research in 2015 by the Ordre des comptables professionnels agrées du Québec. He also demonstrated his leadership as president of the Montreal CPA group from 2012 to 2016.
