Carl Fischer

Carl is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 30 years of experience in government management, policy and accounting. For the last 20 years Carl has worked within the Office of the Comptroller General. His primary responsibility is preparing the Public Accounts of British Columbia, government’s annual financial accountability report to the public.

As Comptroller General, Carl has responsibility for administering the financial policies and practices of government, compliance and audit, financial reporting, and the corporate financial system. Carl also leads the province’s engagement with standard setting bodies and comptrollers across Canada.

Carl has been a pension board trustee since 2006 and is passionate about promoting financial literacy.
